Feature films and filmmakers from the Asian region demonstrating excellence in the arts and sciences of Asian filmmaking will be considered. A panel of submission organisations comprising of authoritative film organisation from different countries/regions, together with a panel of jurors composed of professionals whose experience and expertise in cinema are internationally recognised and a panel of voting members composed of previous winners with outstanding achievements in the field of Asian cinema, select the nominees and winners from the eligible films produced and theatrically released in the Asian region in 2009. Up to 6 nominees are selected in each of the 14 categories and the nomination list will be announced on 20th January, 2010. AFA winners will be announced during the Awards Presentation Ceremony on 22nd March, 2010.
